Our team of practice nurses run our treatment room. They are highly experienced who work closely with the doctors and are trained to carry out an extensive range of procedures and tests.
Practice Clinical Pharmacist
Our practice clinical pharmacist works as a member of the primary care team to support the safe administration and prescribing of medicines for our patients. Our pharmacist completes medication reviews, either on the phone or through face to face appointments and helps the clinical staff and patients understand good prescribing practice.
Our healthcare assistants support the practice nurses in the running of the treatment room and carry out dressings, blood pressure checks, take blood samples and assist the doctors in minor surgery. They are available by appointment, Monday to Friday.
The district nursing team attached to the practice provide home nursing services to patients who are housebound. They are Registered General Nurses with an added year of specialised training in community nursing. Each patient’s needs are assessed and their care/treatment is planned accordingly. The health visitors are based at Stroud Maternity Hospital . They are Registered General Nurses with an added year of specialised training in family health and they are concerned with the promotion of health, particularly for the under fives and their families but also the wider community. They are involved in our child health screening programme. A nursery nurse completes the team and she carries out development checks and supports the health visitors. Our midwives share with your Doctor both your antenatal and postnatal care. They are there to help expectant mothers with all aspects of health care during pregnancy and to look after mother and baby in the early postnatal period. The midwives are available by appointment, please enquire by submitting an E-consult.
